On a visit to The Gordon Highlanders Museum in Aberdeen you can experience
the dramatic story and events surrounding on of Scotland's most famous regiments.
This interesting exhibition includes some of the Regiment's belongings and
treasures, which were collected over two centuries.
There is also a permanent telling the story of the past regiments and how
they survived through this terrible time. There is an excellent programme
accompanying many artefacts and pieces.
You can enjoy interactive events and state-of-the-art touch screen presentations.
As well as the permanent collection of World War II and the regiments pieces
there are many events going out throughout the year that will interest the
whole family.
You can take a look at the visual introduction to the museum and even try
on some of the uniforms! Why not experience what it was like first hand
to be part of The Gordon Highlanders and learn what it's like to be a soldier
for the day. A family quiz sheet is also available on entrance to entertain
and guide young visitors and families easily around the museum.
There is a wide range of gifts at the museum shop, including, videos, music
CD's, tartan, badges, statues and figures, and engraved crystal with the
Gordon Highlanders crest.
As well as the wealth of things to do and see inside, externally you can
enjoy the stunning grounds of the 19th century grounds including many species
of flowers and even a secret garden!
