Acquired in 1857 and laid out by the world famous Sir Joseph Paxton, Queens park has a range of rich range of wildlife, manicured lawns and bedding areas.

Covering 60 Hectares (148 Acres), the park boasts great amenities with a
range of sporting facilities such as five floodlit 'all weather' tennis courts, pitch and putt, bowling greens and a skateboard park as well a nature pond filled with mallards, little grebe, tufted duck, coots, moorhens and mute swans and large boating pond.

Dedicated to Mary Queen of Scots the park is also steeped in history and therefore located near the main walkway is an oak tree planted by Belgian refugees after the first world war and a beech tree commemorating the 20th anniversary of the founding of the united nations from 1945.

The park also provides a café, display glass houses, an aviary and pet house and poetry rose garden and picnic areas with benches. The park also situated 4 miles from the city centre and therefore is in the route of regular buses and 5 minutes from Queens park railway station.
