About Drymen

Drymen is on the West Highland Way map and part of this walk can be enjoyed in a day e.g. Drymen to Balmaha. It is only 14 miles from Drymen that Scotland's southernmost Munroe; Ben Lomond can be challenged by keen hill walkers.

The heart of Drymen is the village green, the key meeting point and home of the Drymen festival. In July and August there is regular piping bands playing alongside highland games and much more.

In May of every year (next date 27th May 2007), there is an annual Drymen show which is a day of agricultural, horse and family entertainment. Stands, exhibitions and competitions return every year including an entertaining sheep sheering competition.

Drymen is a small village that adequately caters for most local and visitor requirements. It has an impressive selection of shops, a supermarket, grocer, post office, bank, restaurants, pubs and hotels.
