A perfect place to stay if you're looking for adventure and beauty. Aviemore is an intimate town where you can enjoy snowboarding, skiing, hillwalking and watersports. Surrounded by the Cairngorms, why not take a ride on the funicular railway to the top. However long you are staying or whatever you are looking for there are plenty of activities to create your own memorable experience.

There are numerous children's activities in and around the area, forest parks, and adventure centres. You can indulge in a dram of whisky at the local distillery, or perhaps hire a mountain or quad bike if you're looking for something a little more daring. You can even visit Balmoral Castle, just a short distance from Aviemore, the Scottish home for the Royal family; you can explore the grounds and gardens and see the exhibition on a guided tour of the castle.

You can have a look at some of Scotland's many species of wildlife and of course take in the beautiful views on a leisurely walk. You can also take in a theatre performance, go to the local swimming pool or perhaps try a spot of go-karting at the nearby track. There are also quite a number of shops within Aviemore, handy for the keen tourist looking for the perfect souvenir.
