Your first view of Oban is a stunning sight, with sea views and sweeping hills. This busy port really is the gateway to some of Scotland's most popular Islands, including ferries sailing to Mull, Coll and Tiree to name but a few. There is not shortage of dining out venues in Oban, shops fill the main street selling gifts and souvenirs and everyday items. Oban nightlife is very impressive for a such a small area, there are also numerous amounts of bed and breakfasts and guest houses.

McCaigs Tower is a favourite attraction in Oban, this coliseum like tower overlooks Oban, the dream of the banker John Stuart McCaig. Almost one hundred years old, the tower stands nearly 70 metres above sea level. Due to McCaig's untimely death, the tower was never completed, but still serves its purpose as a monument to his family.

There are many other great visitor attractions in Oban including Highland Games, Festivals and many other events running throughout the year. For a small seaside town, Oban nightlife is on the map, with various bars and restaurants open from early till late. There is also a leisure centre, you can enjoy a boat trip to some of the surrounding sights, and with bike hire and a local cinema, the whole family will be kept busy!
